An Impressive 18th Century Winged Armchair
Having a tall back with scrolled top between outward turned wings running down to generous scrolled arms and serpentine front rail. The chair stands on short elegant carved cabriole supports, which retain traces of the original polychrome decoration and gilding.
English, circa 1720-40.
The chair has been re-upholstered using traditional horsehair padding and finished in Gainsborough silk damask.
Height 48 inches, width 33 inches across widest part of the arms.
